More Gram Parsons and the Fallen Angels Live - Gram Parsons and the Fallen Angels. Live 1973 is a live album by Gram Parsons and the Fallen Angels. It was recorded at Ultra-Sonic Studios in Hempstead, New York on March 13, 1973 during a live radio broadcast from WLIR-FM, a station located in Garden City, New York. The timing of the recording thus sandwiched it between Parsons' only two solo studio albums, GP, and Grievous Angel, although it was not officially released on LP until 1982, long after Parsons' 1973 death at age 26. Live 1973 is a recording by Gram Parsons and the Fallen Angels. So when he hit the road in 1973 to promote his superb solo debut, G. James Burton, Ronnie Tutt, and most of the band that anchored that album were otherwise engaged. He instead threw together a rough-and-ready crew of roadhouse pickers he dubbed the Fallen Angels Emmylou Harris, thankfully, was available to make the trip, and they began making their way through America's rock clubs and honky tonks. Gram Parsons may have been one of rock's first great trust fund hippies, but he couldn't match the kind of paycheck Elvis Presley was able to offer for a Vegas gig. Reseñas del Gram Parsons & The Fallen Angels - Live 1973 (6):
Excellent recording with subdued crowd noise. If you are a Gram Parson's fan this is a must buy. I have number 360.
Very quiet for a live recording, full sound in the lows and the highs get a bit loud. only issue I have is the bit of harshness in the S on some tracks which is likely from the source material.
Lonesome Orange Kid
My copy has a surface noise throughout. But the sound of the music is otherwise good.
This. Sounds. AMAZING. The packaging design has a sort of low budget feel to it, but for some reason I like it. Feels "authentic".
Picked this up on RSD 2017...pricey but superb record. Compared with the live 1973 on Tidal...this vinyl utterly obliterates it.
Sounds spectacular, rich and full, a lot of markings on the vinyl tho, looks like a rushed pressing job, kinda pissed about that, sounds fuckin wild tho, good job on the sound. EAtmE!
