Guitarist Jean-Pierre Alarcen was recognised as a talented session musician in the 60's. Following the advice of a small label's artistic director, drummer Michel Jullien, keyboardist Henri Garella, and bassist Christian Clairefond contacted Alarcen. They, as EDEN ROSE, went on to release a bluesy progressive rock influenced LP called On the Way to Eden in 1970. Unfortunately, problems arose and the band soon disbanded. Fortunately, they soon reformed under a new name, SANDROSE, in 1971, where they made a larger impression on progressive rock. Following SANDRO read more. Album 2001 9 Songs. This album was recorded in 1979 by French guitarist Jean Pierre Alarcen and is a neo-classical symphony in three movements. What I found intriguing about the album is the way that he utilises the level of sound, as well as the music itself. This means that when the album is quiet, it is really quiet, but when it is loud, IT IS DEAFENING . The Tableau No 1 album could've been subtitled Concerto For a Group And Orchestra. All the three Movements that are featured on it represent nothing else but the works of Classical Academic Music. The arrangements develop constantly and there is no place for repeats. The First and Third Movements, both of which are as long as any LP's typical sidelong pieces, consist of varied structures. 1 Same

great ant
France can sometimes be in a world of it's own in the late 1970s when it's artists were producing albums like this, with a clear nod to the early pioneers Soft Machine, Aphrodite's Child and VDGG. Ascends into jazz-funk done proper towards the end of the first track, layers of guitar/synth piano and even a bit of cowbell/wooden block. Incredible!
