Madama Butterfly: One Fine Day - Guseppe Verdi, Jussi Bjorling. Madama Butterfly. An Opera by Giacomo Puccini. The Humming Chorus, Orchestra and Chorus of La Scala, 1955, conducted by Herbert von Karajan. Act III - Running Time: 35 mins. The night has passed and Suzuki and the child are asleep. Madama Butterfly takes place entirely in a traditional house overlooking the bay of Nagasaki. At the beginning of the 20th century, Nagasaki marked in blue was an industrial city with a huge docklands, a major access point for the West. Today it is sadly best known as the site of a nuclear bombing at the end of the Second World War. Puccini got the idea for Madama Butterfly in 1900. Madama Butterfly IPA: Madam Butterfly is an opera in three acts originally two by Giacomo Puccini, with an Italian libretto by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa. It is based on the short story Madame Butterfly 1898 by John Luther Long, which in turn was based on stories told to Long by his sister Jennie Correll and on the semi-autobiographical 1887 French novel Madame Chrysanthème by Pierre Loti. Long's version was dramatized by David Belasco as the one-act play Madame. Puccini: Madama Butterfly is ranked 54,926th in the overall chart, 1,486th in the 1950s, and 141st in the year 1955. Текст песни: Un bel dì, vedremo Levarsi un fil di fumo Sullestremo confin del mare E poi la nave : Madama Butterfly. EMI's 1955 recording of Madama Butterfly features three of the brightest stars of the era: Maria Callas, Nicolai Gedda, and Herbert von Karajan. Callas hadn't yet sung Cio-Cio-San on-stage when she made this recording, but she fully inhabits the role and brings penetrating insight to it. She's completely convincing as an adolescent, a remarkable feat in this role, which requires a voice of considerable heft. Karajan, leading the Chorus and Orchestra of La Scala, has a sure grasp of the score's dramatic contour and makes this a highly charged reading. The orchestral playing is of the highest order
