Mustard by Roy Wood, full album released in 1979. Mustard Any Old Time Will Do The Rain Came Down on Everything You Sure Got It Now is the second solo album by English musician Roy Wood, released in December 1975 by Jet Records. The album was recorded at De Lane Lea Studios and Phonogram Studios, although a dispute at one of the studios delayed the release of the album. Produced and entirely performed by Wood, who also designed the album artwork, Mustard was a departure from his previous solo album Boulders 1973, with a more ambitious approach and denser, more layered production, again mixing a number of musical styles. Outside of Wood's love for Brian Wilson there's no concept, yet it flows smoothly and attractively, since each song sounds like an epic pop extravaganza in miniature. In a typically perverse turn, Wood opens the record with a scratchy parody of the Andrews Sisters, tackling the harmonies with sped-up vocal tapes, but as soon as Any Old Time Will Do kicks off, it's clear that this is a shining, glittering pop record. After earning success as a performer and songwriter with The Move, The Electric Light Orchestra and Wizzard, the supremely talented Roy Wood released his second solo album in December 1975. As one might have expected, given the eclectic nature of his previous work, Mustard was diverse in style, but was also a masterpiece. Band Name Roy Wood. Album Name Mustard. Type Album.
