Álbum

The Perfect Prescription is the second studio album by Spacemen 3. It is a concept album, a vision of a drug trip from inception to its blasted conclusion, highs and lows fully intact. The music becomes progressively more orchestral and serene until the high of the trip, represented by Ecstasy SymphonyTransparent Radiation Flashback, moving on to the moment of realisation where the high has faded and the comedown ensues, represented by the harsh opening guitar chords in Things'll Never Be. Drawing together some earlier material and a slew of new songs, Spacemen 3 tied everything together on the brilliant Perfect Prescription, the clear point of departure from tribute to psych inspirations and finding its own unique voice. Genre: Space Rock. Or consider a donation. Spacemen 3 without Kember and the only way fans would get to hear Recurring material live. These three records, originally for the Glass label, represent the bulk of the output of the version of Spacemen that were still unified. As good as their later work was, in some ways 1987's The Perfect Prescription is the very peak of Spacemen 3, an album that can stand easily with the very best rock music ever created about the drug experience or, again, all those other things Kember and Pierce were so good at conflating with it. You could consider it a concept album there's only the narrator and the listener he's addressing, but there's a definite sequence of events
