Is the pen-or the keyboard-mightier than the sword You might think that a solitary writer wouldnt frighten or intimidate anyone. Every year on November 15th they sponsor The Day of the Imprisoned Writer, a global day of recognition that recognizes, honors and supports writers who, as PEN International describes it, resist repression of the basic human right to freedom of expression and who stand up to attacks made against their right to impart information. PEN International marks The Day of the Imprisoned Writer by naming and recognizing the important work of incarcerated and persecuted novelists, poets and journalists in different parts of the world . However, co-producer Elliott Kastner came back to directorco-writer Hubert Cornfield and told him there was a possibility they could get Marlon Brando for the part. Cornfield jumped at the chance. The film obviously wants to be like the various Euro crime films that the decade was full of. The biggest problem is that director Hubert Cornfield goes for a laid-back approach, which is fine but a bit more energy or tension would have been nice. I'd also argue that there's really nothing overly special about the screenplay and the main story. After decades of organizing, lobbying, and protesting, American women finally gained the right to vote with the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment in 1920. This film offers rare footage of the struggle leading up to and including that pivotal moment. ALBUM OF THE DAY June 17, 2020. Various Artists, Saving For a Custom Van. The Book of Enoch begins with the arrival of 200 Fallen Angels in the area of Mount Hermon, which borders modern-day Lebanon and Syria. The Fallen Angels began interbreeding andor genetically modifying the local inhabitants. 1 And it came to pass, when the sons of men had increased, that in those days there were born to them fair and beautiful daughters. 6 And I went towards the south, and it was burning day and night, where there were seven mountains of precious stones, three towards the east and three towards the south. Nevertheless, he gives us a possible location of the imprisoned Fallen Angels, Mt Vinson andor six other mountains in the Sentinel Range. The makers of this parody of Night of the Living Dead took George Romero's classic and wiped the soundtrack clean, then redubbed it with comedic dialogue
