Street Sounds Hip Hop Electro 13 Side A - Various. Funk Electric - Street Sounds Nu Electro 4 2012 - Black Electronics. The hip-hop tracks come mostly from the mid-'80s, including Stetsasonic's Just Say Stet, Kurtis Blow's The Bronx, Marley Marl's He Cuts So Fresh, and Grandmaster Flash's White Lines Don't Do It. For Hip Hop, 1984, 1985 and 1986 were defining years, leaving behind the Old School and slowly but surely ushering in Hip Hops Golden Age. The disco- and electro days of Old School Hip Hop were over, and under the influence of Def Jam and producers like Marley Marl, Hip Hop started to sound sparser and harder. The increasing use of sampling created more diversity and more room for innovation and creativity. Seductive, smooth yet hard beats laced with Rakims innovative and intricate rhyme style, make for this groundbreaking and seminal work. This is one of the albums that can be seen as a precursor to 1988, Hip Hops break-out year

The following review was originally posted by user Fizza on a now-deleted entry for the 7" only:

Stronger Than Strong is Wacker Than Wack, but The Man Marley Marl is a lost Marley Marl gem that everyone should have in their collection, a great cut up record that has it's best pressing on this 7", which is a massive shame as it should have been released on 12", what we're they thinking? It is also available on the Tuff City - Smokin' Beats comp but the pressing is quite inferior, although it does have some extended bonus beats, which are cool.
